OrthoWorks was founded in 1920 by William Sylvester Smith. More than a century later, the practice continues under Dr. David Shen and a team of nine board-certified orthodontic specialists across the San Francisco Bay Area.
Dr. David Shen and Associates specialize in providing orthodontic care using a variety of techniques including Invisalign® appliances, traditional braces, surgical orthodontics, cleft palate/cleft lips and sleep apnea. In short, our practice is dedicated to one goal: to create healthy and beautiful smiles for children and adults using the highest quality of orthodontic care available. To achieve this, we avail ourselves of the latest technological advancements in the field together with our collective experiences. Over the years, the practice has grown from its original three locations to eight locations throughout the San Francisco Bay Area, serving over 60,000 orthodontic patients. Over 100 years of collective knowledge and experience and a top-notch team enables us to consistently deliver the best possible treatment outcomes. Meet the Doctors
David Shen, DMD
Dr. Shen is the founding President of the Northern California Asian Dental Association. He is Chairman of the Advisory Board of the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. He is a member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontists and the California Dental Association.
Dr. Shen is married with two children. He enjoys photography, water sports and traveling.
