Braces remain a precise, reliable way to move teeth, and today’s brackets are smaller and more comfortable than ever. At our San Bruno office on Sneath Lane, OrthoWorks treats kids, teens, and adults with traditional braces under the care of nine board-certified orthodontic specialists. San Bruno families bring multiple generations through our office because they know the doctor placing brackets today will be here when the case is complete.
Braces for San Bruno Patients
Braces are especially well-suited for cases involving significant crowding, rotated teeth, growth-related bite correction in younger patients, and complex multi-arch movements. We treat students from Capuchino High School, Parkside Intermediate, John Muir Elementary, Belle Air Elementary, and Rollingwood Elementary, plus adults from the Rollingwood, Crestmoor, Portola Highlands, Tanforan, and Bay Hill neighborhoods who choose a fixed solution over removable aligners.
For younger San Bruno patients, the American Association of Orthodontists recommends a first orthodontic visit by age 7. That visit is complimentary here, and most kids leave with a watch-and-wait plan rather than immediate treatment. When braces are the right choice, timing them to growth often shortens overall treatment and improves results.
What Sets OrthoWorks Apart
Dr. David Shen, DMD, founded OrthoWorks and continues to lead the clinical team. He earned his dental degree at the University of Pennsylvania, served on the UCSF faculty, and chairs the Advisory Board at Penn’s School of Dental Medicine. He is the founding president of the Northern California Asian Dental Association. Our nine board-certified orthodontists have more than 100 combined years of experience, and together we have treated more than 60,000 Bay Area patients. OrthoWorks is the longest-standing privately owned orthodontic group in the region, which means the doctor placing your brackets today will be here for retainer checks years from now.

What to Expect
Your first visit is a complimentary orthodontic consultation. We complete a full bite exam, take photos and any necessary imaging, and walk you through every option in front of you, including braces, Invisalign, and Phase I early treatment when appropriate. Braces placement takes about an hour and involves no needles. We see you every 6 to 8 weeks for short adjustments. Most full cases complete in 18 to 24 months. Every case ends with custom retainers and a long-term retention plan to hold the result.
