Britta Tomer, DDS
Dr. Tomer was born in Denmark, where she received her undergraduate education and her Doctorate of Dental Surgery.
In 1971, she relocated to California upon acceptance of a research fellowship in the department of Craniofacial Anomalies at the University of California, San Francisco. She published several clinical orthodontic papers and abstracts of her research.
Dr. Tomer then went on to complete her Certificate of Orthodontic Specialty at UCSF in 1977. Since then, she has continued her part-time faculty position as an associate professor at UCSF. She is part of a multidisciplinary team of specialists who treat children with cleft lips and palates.
Dr. Tomer has over 30 years of experience in the private practice of orthodontics and dento-facial orthopedics. She is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association and the European Orthodontics Society.
Dr. Tomer enjoys the outdoors, traveling, and music.

David Shen, DMD
Dr. Shen received his Bachelor of Science degree at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. He earned his Doctorate of Dental Medicine and his Certificate of Orthodontic Specialty from the University of Pennsylvania in 1981. He has successfully completed Phase II of the American Board of Orthodontics certification. He is a Fellow of the Academy of Dentistry International.
Dr. Shen, who has over 25 years of experience in the exclusive practice of orthodontics, has become recognized as one of the top five most experienced Invisalign® doctors in the world and is a member of the Align Century Club. He served as a faculty member at UCSF. He lectures internationally and has been invited to speak at the American Association of Orthodontists’ Annual Convention many times.
Dr. Shen has served as President of the Northern California Asian Dental Association. He was Chairman of the Membership Committee of the San Mateo County Dental Society. He is a member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontists and the California Dental Association.
Dr. Shen is married with two children. He enjoys photography, water sports and traveling.

Barbara Yee, DDS, MS
Dr. Yee received her Bachelor of Science degree and her Doctorate in Dental Surgery at the University of California San Francisco. She earned her Certificate of Orthodontic Specialty and Master of Science degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in 2002. She has completed Phase II of the American Board of Orthodontics certification.
Dr. Yee has done extensive research on the architecture of the mandibular bone. Her papers are published in the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics and the Journal of Dental Research.
Dr. Yee is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, California Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association and the California Dental Association.
Dr. Yee is a San Francisco Bay Area native and enjoys ballroom dancing, bicycling and hiking.

Yi-Chen Liu, DDS, MS
Dr. Liu has a B.S. degree in Biochemistry earned from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. After earning her Doctor of Dental Surgery from Columbia University in New York, she went to the University of Illinois in Chicago and earned her M.S. in Oral Sciences and a Certificate in Orthodontics. She has since become licensed in two states: Illinois and California.
Being Board Eligible for the American Board of Orthodontics, Dr. Liu is also a member of the American and California Association of Orthodontists. She is affiliated with the World Federation of Orthodontists and a member of the American, California and Santa Clara County Dental Societies. During her years in the study and practice of dentistry and orthodontics, Dr. Liu has earned many honors for excellence and achievements.
The ability to speak three languages (English, Chinese and Spanish) is yet another attribute. Aside from her dedication to her career in orthodontics, Dr. Liu also likes to travel, goes to the theatre and enjoys reading.

Kristy Chung, DMD, MS
Dr. Chung received her Bachelor of Arts at the University of California, Berkeley in 1996. She earned her Doctorate of Dental Medicine at the Harvard University School of Dental Medicine. She continued on her dental career with orthodontic residency at the University of California, San Francisco, where she earned certificate of orthodontics and master's degree in craniofacial biology. Upon graduation, she received the First Resident Clinician Scholar’s Award, conferred by the American Association of Orthodontists.
Dr. Chung's research interests include finding the role of female reproductive hormones in the ethiopathogenesis of TMJ disease, for which she received a distinguished award, the Thomas M. Graver Award of Special Merit, at the American Association of Orthodontists’ annual session in 2005.
Dr. Chung is an active member of American Association of Orthodontists, Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists and California Association of Orthodontists.
Dr. Chung is married with a son, enjoys tasting different ethnic foods, and spends her free time enjoying outdoor activities.

Jessie Chang, DDS
Having grown up in Canada, Dr. Chang received her undergraduate education at Queen's University. She then earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Columbia University in New York. Dr. Chang completed her orthodontic residency at the University of California in Los Angeles, where she received her Certificate in Orthodontics and Master's Degree in Oral Biology.
Dr. Chang's research focused on using 3-D X-ray to study tooth movement and changes during orthodontic treatment.
Organizations of which Dr. Chang is a member are the American Association of Orthodontics, the American Dental Association and the California Dental Association.
Dr. Chang likes to read, go hiking, snowboard, play board games and visit the Farmers Market.
